This week’s nutrient: Kindness!
I am so happy to be sharing this week’s newsletter with you, on the heels of the first (or second depending on who’s asking) presidential debate and after a second presumed assassination attempt of one of our candidates, the world seems to be on fire (and the pundits and social media are stoking the flames)
It seems like a dose of civility is exactly what we all need right now! Like most things, kindness is one of those very simple principles; free, accessible, unlimited, effective in fostering our relationships with ourselves and with each other and beneficial to our health, mind, body and soul.
And yet, simple does not necessarily mean easy, especially in times of uncertainty, worry and reactivity.
My dear friend, Shola Richards, shares his inspirational insights on how we can bring more kindness and civility into our relationships and interactions starting with a powerful personal story of how workplace bullying led to an attempted suicide and how he transformed his pain into a global movement to bring kindness back into our lives.
In this episode, we discuss the timely and crucial topic of civility and specifically how:
How to foster civil discourse and kindness in challenging conversations
Strategies for disagreeing without disrespect
Tips for creating a healthier workplace culture
The profound connection between civility and personal well-being, mind body and soul
In a time of increasing polarization and incivility, Shola’s insights will empower you to:
Engage in meaningful conversations that promote understanding
Model respectful behavior in your personal and professional life
Contribute to a culture of kindness that enhances mental health and community well-being
You can listen to the entire episode here.
And just one final reminder, kindness begins with us. So take this moment, put your arms around yourself and say something kind, you deserve it!
Wishing you a happy and healthy week, mind, body and soul!
