Habit Stacking your Travel and other Spring Tips

May is around the corner and so is travel season! 🥳 Patients frequently ask how they can manage travel while maintaining their health routines. But in today’s NL I wanted to offer an ingenious way (at least I think it is 😝) to plan your next trip! But first a story…

Before the pandemic, I was waking up at 5 am every morning to get to a 5:30 group fitness class. Once that was shut down, I had to find a way to keep moving, and like many of you, opted for a peloton 🚴‍♀️.

I soon got tired of the way-too-cheerful coaches and switched to the scenic rides. For those of you who are not pelo aficionados, the scenic rides are just as they sound, timed rides that take you thru the most scenic sites across the world 🏝️. I found myself gravitating towards Scandinavia. The displays of nature were exquisite and serene plus cute little sheep often accompanied me on the side of the road 🐑.

After exploring other parts of the world, I kept coming back to the same rides thru picturesque Norway and Switzerland. I just could not get enough. When it dawned on me that I had to plan my next travel there.

I am not the “travel-agent” in our family. I don’t trust my intuition to make decisions about places I have not physically seen. And then I had an idea. What if I dropped my favorite sites and cities into ChatGPT and let her do the work? So I hopped off my bike, scribbled down my favorite rides and headed over to my laptop.

Give me a 14-day itinerary, including Interlaken, Suleskarvegen and Preikestolen and some others. Within seconds, a detailed itinerary popped up so perfect it made my mouth water 😋.

And then it dawned on me. What a cool habit stack! Whether it is an actual trip you are planning or you just need a mental vacation, why not do it on a peloton?

And if you should, send me an email back and tell me what travel itinerary you came up with!
